About the Designer
Steven Biggs was born and raised in the coastal suburbs of Southern California where he enjoyed surfing and hiking the scenic bluffs and rolling hills. Steve's deep-rooted love for the fine arts led him to the study of ceramics which he practiced for many years. Steve soon discovered that he had a passion for jewelry.
Ultimately, the ocean and the great outdoors inspired the birth of the Steven Douglas Company which Steve founded in 1988.
His goal was to create mini-sculptures or figurative jewelry to the highest standards while incorporating old-world craftsmanship.
Over the past 35 years, Steve has fashioned hundreds of innovative designs, some with exacting detail and others with whimsical interpretation. The results have brought worldwide recognition to Steve and the Steven Douglas Company.
Artist's Vision
Each design begins with a drawing of the artist's vision inspired by nature and imagination.
All models are painstakingly sculpted by hand from wax then cast in sterling silver.
Hand Finished
Mixed metal sterling and gold pieces require a painstaking process utilizing a separate casting and soldering to bring together a seamless creation.
Each piece is meticulously hand-finished by skilled artisans to ensure precision, detail, and quality.
Certificate of Authenticity
The final piece is a work of art that is three-dimensional, interpretive sentimental, and collectible.
